Rolling, not rubbing. When changing gears the movement of the foot and the lever are counter rotating. This causes contact and friction between the rubber end of the lever and the boot which in turn leads to stiff and rough gear changes (and wears your boot out faster as well!). Therefore we are using a roller bearing on the lever rubber, which makes gear changes fast, smooth and easier. Many competition (Sidecar Moto-X) and all weather bikes were fitted with this system, to the delight of their riders. Easy conversion, original lever slightly modified. Stainless steel with Polyamide roller. Also suitable with lower footrest conversions.
