Stay Cool on Hot Days
The first heatwave has swept across the country, with more to follow throughout the summer. High temperatures and intense sunlight pose a significant challenge for motorcyclists. Exposed directly to the weather conditions, many have already learned how to ride safely and somewhat comfortably even at 38 degrees Celsius.
The key is using the right gear that balances safety and breezy comfort, even on hot summer days. Functional underwear aids in temperature regulation and wicks sweat away from the skin. Summer motorcycle gear features mesh panels, perforations, or ventilation openings, ensuring a pleasant climate without compromising impact and crash protection. Do not forgo ankle-high footwear and abrasion-resistant gloves; summer-friendly solutions are available for these too.
Even though the wind provides some cooling, it's advisable to take frequent breaks in shady spots to allow the body to cool down and replenish fluid reserves. Very important: in extreme heat, drink early, regularly, and a lot. This can include coffee or tea at a stop, but mineral waters, fruit juice spritzers, or various isotonic drinks are much better. Instead of a heavy meal, opt for several light snacks rich in water and minerals. Tomatoes, cucumber, or watermelon pieces are suitable and can be carried in a (tank) backpack.
On group rides: If a member occasionally doesn’t have something, the same motto applies as for this weekend check: Share!
Those who go on tours in the summer – who doesn’t – should keep two basic aspects in mind: One should choose their gear wisely and always actively be aware of their physical condition.

Our Gear and Physical Condition
When we go on tours in the summer – who doesn’t – we should keep two basic aspects in mind: choosing the right gear wisely and always actively being aware of our physical condition, so we can react in time before we overexert ourselves and our bodies.
Regarding the gear, here are some examples:
Wunderlich Pad Breeze Functional Shirts and Pants
Wunderlich Pad Breeze functional shirts and pants ensure a balanced body temperature and a comfortable body climate while riding a motorcycle, thus maintaining physical performance.
Wunderlich Riding Suit

Our proven Wunderlich riding suit can be adapted to any weather conditions without compromising safety. Even on hot days.
Cool Cover Seat Cover
This seat cover is the air conditioning for the standard seat. The airflow can circulate while riding because the cover is three-dimensionally air-permeable. It also allows for the drainage of rainwater during a summer thunderstorm, keeping the seat dry. Another plus: the soothing, massage-like effect that helps alleviate symptoms of fatigue.
Wunderlich Sunshade
Straining to read instruments or the navigation system contributes to mental fatigue, especially in glaring sunlight. With our high-quality sunshade elements for the combination instrument or navigation system, the display remains easily readable even in bright sunlight, making riding more relaxed.
