This ULTIMATE engine protection bar is uncompromisingly designed for its protective effect in Adventure Riding

The development of this Wunderlich ULTIMATE engine protection bar focused uncompromisingly on maximum protection for Adventure Riding.
Its compact component geometry not only reliably protects the engine but also indirectly shields the water pump, clutch, and alternator, as well as their housing covers, without affecting ground clearance or lean angles. The two-part engine protection bar fits snugly and gains additional stability and rigidity through its specific structure, while optimising component weight. The bars for the right and left sides are securely bolted to two selected mounting points. In the event of a fall or crash, the forces are optimally distributed through the protection bar structure to the load-bearing mounting points, avoiding force and torque peaks and effectively reducing material stress. Combined with the ULTIMATE engine protection bar (#41586-002), it forms a comprehensive, proven all-round protection concept, increasing passive safety and enhancing the joy of riding.
The tubing diameter of the engine protection bar structure is 25 millimetres. The tube segments are shaped using CNC tube bending machines and then cleanly welded.
Visually, the protection bar integrates into the motorcycle's design, blending seamlessly with its distinctive appearance and highlighting the Adventure look in a high-quality way.

The two highly complexly designed engine covers for the alternator and the clutch are sensitive in the event of a mishap over terrain or a crash.

We have developed a set of light covers to protect the sensitive housing covers. They are uniquely characterised by their integrated, appealing design, which reliably protects vulnerable areas and simultaneously emphasises the design of the housing covers, and most importantly, leaving the superior BMW logo free and clear.

The specialists from Grafschaft have designed the structure of the covers is so that mechanical stresses and force spikes are distributed evenly over the structure of the component. A moulded elastomer element made of silicone is fitted to the inside to provide additional dampening. This also seals the covers against the alternator and clutch covers so that dirt, moisture and dust are kept out.

The covers can be mounted using the mounting kit provided in just a few minutes.

The water pump sits far forward in an elevated position on the right side of the engine. It is easy to identify due to the hose that leads back to the cooler. The water pump housing and thus the function of the water pump are at risk in the event of an unlucky mishap or fall. That’s why we think it’s sensible to fit this aggregate with an additional protective cover. This is because a water pump failure always means that the journey gets interrupted, otherwise you run the risk of total engine failure because the cooling is no longer guaranteed.

We have developed thoroughly fitted, impact-resistant, light protective cover that reliably protects the water pump. It is characterised by its appealing design, which quotes the original form of the BMW water pump housing.

The structure of the cover has been designed by our developers so that they distribute and dissipate mechanical loads and force spikes uniformly across the respective component structure of the cover. A moulded elastomer element made of silicone is fitted to the inside to provide additional dampening. This also seals the cover against the original cover of the water pump so that dirt, moisture and dust are kept out.

The cover can be mounted using the accompanying mounting kit in just a few minutes..

The functional design and constructive integration of our »EXTREME« engine protection protects the engine and the manifold. It moulds itself so tightly to the aggregate that not only is the frontal area of attack minimised, but the ground and lean angle freedom remain almost entirely unchanged. The form of this protection avoids unpleasant levering or jamming of the vehicle over terrain, no matter whether from branches, scree or rocks. Openings ensure that water picked up during river crossings can flow out freely again. Typically Wunderlich, the team have made sure that you have good, unrestricted access during maintenance works: For example, an opening has been included for unhindered drainage of the engine oil. The aluminium engine protection is corrosion-resistant and the generated forces and vibrations are absorbed by impact-decoupling attachment elements. We manufacture the »EXTREME« engine protection using the challenging and advanced hydroforming manufacturing process. This allows us to realise complex component forms and geometries (especially asymmetrical ones, in which we can achieve lower weight and simultaneously realise high component rigidities and mechanical stability through optimisation of the material thickness. The result is a resistant, weight and form-optimised engine protection unit that moulds so tightly and organically to the aggregate that the design principle of "form follows function" becomes self-evident. The centre stand protection plate is the consistent and logical addition to the Wunderlich engine protection. The engine protection reliably protects the engine and oil tank, while the centre stand plate provides additional protection for the centre stand, the exhaust outlet and the swing arm mounting.

Combining the engine protection and centre stand protection plate results in the effect of all technical components between the front and rear wheels being reliably protected against mechanical influences such as bottoming out or stone impacts. Furthermore, should it bottom out, the bike can glide along the ground on a fully protected undercarriage until the rear wheel finds purchase again. The unpleasant and potentially dangerous levering of the machine by the hooking or wedging of branches when used off-road is also significantly reduced. This decisively increases passive safety.

The radiator is perfectly positioned for the on-rushing air stream, so that anything being carried by this stream finds its way into the cooler. Stones cause damage, while insects and other types of grime accumulate in the delicate fins. Cleaning is an extremely laborious process and requires lots of elbow grease. The cooler protection’s positioned fins provide optimum air throughput and reliably prevent items from hitting the cooler directly.

Our radiator protection is also a visual highlight: The black cooler surfaces disappear and the actual cooler opening is impressively accentuated.

Even though the F 850 GS already has discreet radiator protection as standard, ours offers a great deal more in terms of both impact and appearance.

Tip: Insects and other grime which has accumulated can be easily removed with a damp cloth. Place the cloth on the grille for approximately 30 minutes so that the dirt can be penetrated with moisture and then removed easier.

The additional safeguard for the F 850 or F 750 GS: Especially when fully loaded or on an unsecured surface, the F 850/750 GS can easily drop on the side stand. The precision milled extension plate quickly screws onto the side stand and frees the GS of this danger.

The switch, which reliably cuts the ignition whenever the side stand is folded out, certainly prevents a lot of grief. This is because riding off with the side stand folded out can have very unpleasant consequences for both rider and bike. It therefore makes sense to properly protect this exposed switch against damage from stone impacts or falls. After all, if the switch is damaged, the engine will no longer start. We replace the original plastic part with a solid component. The high level of protection is ensured by the stiffness of the angular, partially pierced 2 mm aluminium plate. It surrounds the exposed switch with its sturdy two-point attachment and reliably protects it. This reliably reduces the risk of damage to the switch, especially during vigorous off-road use. This rear hugger protects both man and machine! It offers reliable protection for the rider's legs and feet against kicked up spray, moisture and dirt.

It simultaneously provides reliable protection for the technical elements: the shock absorber, exhaust, collector exhaust flap mechanism and the substructure of the rear frame are protected against stone strikes, road dirt and moisture during rainy rides.

The rear hugger is reinforced on the side to dampen vibrations.

Three specially shaped openings on the edge of the cover provide two-fold effective noise reduction: the resonance behaviour of the rear hugger is positively impacted and the aerodynamically generated noises in the tight gap between the wheel and the cover are reduced by altering the aero-acoustics.

Solid protective cover for the "brembo" brake callipers. They provide reliable protection against mechanical stress and integrate into the sporty design of the GS. The high protective effect is the result of the stiffness of the 3D edged aluminium component with milled openings. This leaves the superior "brembo" logo on the brakes clearly visible. Our cover securely and reliably frames the exposed brake callipers as well as the hose connections with its clean two-point attachment.

This reliably reduces the threat of damage to the brake callipers especially during vigorous off-road use. The protection mounts easily using the two existing and easily accessible attachment points on the fork.
