Our unique passenger seat offers the same high level as today’s high-quality rider seats in terms of ergonomics, cushioning properties and, above all, size. The cut of the cover, the elaborate seam design and the craftsmanship of our upholsterers create an appearance that - despite a generous additional 70 millimetres of seat width compared with the standard seat - integrates wonderfully and discreetly into the design of the BMW R 1300 GS. At the same time, the significantly larger surface area reduces seat pressure, resulting in noticeably greater comfort for your bottom.

Why do we do this?
Quite simply, because many of our customers ask us for it. Particularly those who only forgo the pleasure of touring and travelling together on a motorcycle because the seating comfort of today’s standard passenger seats is barely sufficient for a ride to the nearest ice cream parlour, but otherwise simply unbearable.

With our seat, that is definitely a thing of the past!

We manufacture our seats with a specific, characteristic and particularly ergonomic 3-D contour. A special feature of our passenger seat is the support contour integrated into the front section of the seat, which provides additional secure support when braking. Integrated in this way, riding is simply more relaxed and therefore more active. And there is no doubt that relaxed seating provides an additional level of active safety. With our ThermoPro rider and passenger seats, the temperature of the seating surface is up to 25°C lower in full sun in high summer compared with conventional cover material.

AKTIVKOMFORT seat with adjustable Smart Plug & Play seat heating
Smart Plug & Play: This seat with comfort seat heating replaces the original seat. The prerequisite is that the original seat is also equipped with seat heating and that the motorcycle has the corresponding power supply.
Before fitting the seat as usual, all that is required is to establish the electrical connection to the motorcycle’s onboard electrical system. This is done with the matching, pre-assembled cable, Plug & Play!
The desired heating level (Off, heating level 1, heating level 2) can be individually adjusted as usual using an easily accessible switch located on the right-hand side of the seat in the direction of travel, while the rider is notified in the onboard menu when the passenger seat heating element is switched on.

The AKTIVKOMFORT seat heating element consists of a robust fleece into which a fine yet exceptionally high-tensile, resistant stainless-steel filament heating wire is integrated and laid in numerous loops. This elaborate construction, designed for durability and resilience, provides even, optimal heat distribution that feels particularly pleasant and noticeably increases seating comfort. It also provides the necessary elasticity so that the seat heating element can continuously and flexibly compensate for the considerable stresses caused by the movement, stretching and compression of the seat cushion when mounting and riding.

Because the requirements of rider and passenger differ, BMW specialist Wunderlich manufactures its AKTIVKOMFORT seats with a specific contour for each. The rider and passenger contours differ in detail according to their respective requirements. The following applies to both: the proven, characteristic ergonomic 3-D contour and the shape and inclination of the elaborately crafted seat core support an ergonomically beneficial, natural posture of the pelvis.

The sophisticated construction reliably prevents the cushioning from „bottoming out“, while seat pressure is evenly distributed over a larger area, resulting in a noticeably lower specific pressure load on the backside. Comfortable! The ergonomic shape of the special foam also relieves the pressure-sensitive coccyx.
They provide perfect support and active, secure control during spirited riding, particularly when braking: who has not experienced the passenger suddenly pushing forward from behind under hard braking, forcing the rider to brace themselves unexpectedly while simultaneously having to steer, perhaps in an already tricky situation? With Wunderlich’s specially developed support contour, these alarming moments when braking are a thing of the past.

Integrated in this way, riding is simply relaxed and active. Relaxed riding provides a decisive increase in active safety.
