Digimoto

Futuristic yet traditional, minimalist and yet brilliant - DIGIMOTO is the name of the innovative motorcycle study that we’ve set up together with two competent partners. With the prototype based on the current BMW R 1200 R, we demonstrate the possible development of the motorcycle segment in the future. Starting with the boxer engine and the radically stripped back frame of the BMW roadster, the R has been completely reassembled using the latest development and manufacturing processes. Traditional craft techniques played a critical role here too, such as the whetting of the bare aluminium tank.

One new feature is the DIGIMOTO bike’s sensor panel. Here the various sensors and cameras generate a stream of data that is turned into visible information and transmitted to the rider’s helmet visor in real time. This visualisation of all rider-relevant information allows the complete removal of all display elements on the motorcycle, in turn enabling an incomparable reduction in motorcycle design.

The striking design concept for this progressive motorcycle comes from the Munich-based industry designer, Christian Zanzotti. The native Italian is known for his highly emotional and simultaneously reduced shapes and for sounding out the limits of technology.

Also from Munich comes GRAY DEVELOPMENT. The specialists from GRAY designed the product concept and innovative manufacturing of the components using Virtual Reality Prototyping and are responsible for new production processes.

We deliver the technical implementation. Thanks to our experience from more than three decades of development work in the motorcycle industry, a revolutionary vision led to a ready-to-ride, future-forward motorcycle.
