In 2021, we welcomed a new family member to the ELEPHANT range: the DRYBAG series. All bags in the ELEPHANT DRYBAG series are defined by their purist design and fully waterproof construction. They are UV-resistant, robustly engineered, and the fabric is high-strength, abrasion-resistant and extremely durable.
Our perfectly fitting ELEPHANT DRYBAG top bags sit neatly on the side panniers – making them the ideal companions for long-distance touring. They are precisely tailored and feature a secure, user-friendly fastening system. Compatible with panniers that have lashing eyelets, such as our EXTREME cases, the original BMW aluminium panniers (for the BMW R 1250 GS and Adventure, R 1200 GS LC and Adventure, F 900 GS and Adventure, F 850 GS and Adventure), and our proven luggage racks for the original Vario plastic panniers developed specifically for GS models. The panniers can be opened and closed even with the top bags mounted. Undersides are paint-friendly and non-slip to prevent scuffing. The generous 18-litre volume can be expanded by 8 litres to a total of 26 litres via the all-round expansion zip.
The base of the top bag features a continuous, form-stable insert. A large mesh pocket with zip is integrated into the lid for quick access to travel essentials.
The form-stable construction ensures your luggage is held securely and protected – with no flapping, even at high speed. That means no fluttering noises caused by wind. And no need for additional rain covers. Bonus: they also make for a comfy armrest for your passenger.
All in all, probably the most comfortable and sensible upgrade for your panniers.
The fine weave structure of the CORDURA® 500 used in the new series underscores its purist appearance. To ensure waterproofness and stability, a durable TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) layer is laminated inside the high-tech fabric. All seams and reinforcements are carefully welded to be waterproof. Zips are premium-quality and both water- and dustproof – and designed for ease of use.
The top of each DRYBAG is finished with an integrated closure cap, made in the same way as our tank bags. This flap covers both the bag tops and the zips – ensuring complete waterproofness.
The cap features a versatile mounting system with regularly spaced oval openings, similar to the military MOLLE system. This allows additional accessory bags to be attached with ease using simple loops.
