Compatibility

In addition to the BMW R 12 G/S, the Wunderlich ULTIMATE engine protection bars also fit the BMW R 12, R 12 S and R 12 nineT.
Compatible with valve cover protectors 36611-002 and the original BMW Option 719 milled ignition coil cover. The bars fit with the valve cover protectors without requiring a widening kit.
Optional accessories: The GUARD crash bar protector set – 25 mm (#35836-002) is available separately.

Incompatibility

Not compatible with the original BMW cylinder head cover protectors.

They provide reliable protection not only for the cylinders and valve covers, but also for both lambda sensors. This comprehensive protection concept enhances passive safety and, with it, riding enjoyment. In the event of a crash or the motorcycle tipping over, the forces generated are optimally distributed through the protection bar structure to the robust mounting points. This prevents peak loads and torque stresses, effectively reducing mechanical stress on the components.

The engine protection bar structure is manufactured from 25/22 mm precision steel tubing. The tube sections are formed using CNC tube-bending machines and then cleanly welded together. Visually, the protection bars integrate seamlessly into the motorcycle's design, complementing its distinctive appearance. Our ULTIMATE engine protection bars have also been designed with ease of maintenance in mind: The oil drain plug and oil filter cartridge remain fully accessible for an oil change, without having to remove the engine protection bars.
