Our latest concept bike tells a story - a story of minimalism and style. The challenge of transforming the R18 into a bobber was evident to our designer Nicolas Petit. Following the R nineT-based interpretation, the topic has previously caused quite a stir and achieved notorious status. When a puristic design is fused with the essence of coolness, nonchalance, and audacity, it's time to rediscover the R18. The boxer engine, which is atypical for a bobber, was skillfully integrated with specially developed components down to the smallest detail. With the RockBob, Wunderlich has achieved milestones of BMW traditions, combining stylistic elements typical of the bobbers of the Rock era and staging them expressively and convincingly with the superb standards of Wunderlich. The RockBob radiates an impressive quality impression that is somewhat unusual for bobbers. The result successfully underlines stylistic independence and high recognition value. The dark finish, the engine's color scheme, and exhaust system explicitly say: we want to make a statement. The high-quality black-painted engine, the exhaust system, and manifolds ceramic coated in black. The matte black tank contrasts with the glossy liner that continues into the fenders. The handlebars and lateral license plate holder profoundly blend into this concept. Puristic handlebar end indicators and mirrors add clever highlights to this dark rider. Standard chrome-plated parts have been reduced, and plastic parts replaced by milled parts. With the R 18 RockBob, we take the exceptional traditions and reinterpret them in our own way, accentuating, focusing on details, and cultivating the pure line. The BMW R 18 switches up the gears with the gear-shifter of the rocker switch that juts out forwards. We think that the gear-shifter that measures just 40 mm, and which you push down with the tip of your foot, is too short. You look for it again and again, but sometimes you hit it imprecisely and sadly your boot slipping is a given.

Our gear-shifter extension replaces the series standard lever. At 60 mm, it’s 50% longer (!) than the original. This change not only makes switching gears noticeably easier, but more comfortable too. This means added operating reliability, especially in situations where it’s key.

All-round protection and safety.

The first protection bar made of 32 mm pipe! We chose this dimension of pipe for two reasons: for strength purposes, to protect the R 18 in the best way possible and for aesthetic reasons. This is because only the 32 mm pipe looks balanced and aesthetically pleasing on the R 18 - and around the bulky manifold pipes. Additionally, we consciously chose a closed, single-piece form for the protection bar that, alongside the dimensions, contributes to the structural solidity. The high-quality powder-coated and clear lacquered protection bar - matching the frame perfectly - thus integrates discreetly into the overall style of the R 18 while adding its own, coordinated accent. The spade-shaped form calls to mind the protection bar on the classical air-cooled BMW Boxer.

Innovative luggage solutions.

Old school: the tailored tool roll made of high-quality, black cowhide attaches below the front headlight. The leather straps for closing the dimensionally stable bag are fitted with chrome-plated buckles. The invisible, hidden attachment is accomplished smartly and comfortably with the help of three Loxx quick closures, so nothing disturbs the clean look.
