Ilmberger uses pre-impregnated carbon-fibre matrices for its premium-quality carbon components. The fibre volume is precisely calculated, and the orientation of the individual fibre layers is carefully defined. The matrix is then laminated by hand without air inclusions and finished with two protective coatings. An additional satin-matt lacquer coating protects the component while accentuating the three-dimensional appearance of the carbon-fibre structure. Once cured in an autoclave, the carbon components meet the highest standards and withstand even the most demanding conditions.
This aerospace-grade material achieves a weight saving of up to 70% compared with the standard component, while its exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio allows it to realise its full potential. In every case, the form follows the function and integrates seamlessly into the motorcycle’s design. The lines of the respective model are taken into account, as are the materials and surface textures of adjacent standard components.
