This engine protection cover set consists of three covers that reliable protection for the exposed points on the engine: these are the clutch cover and the covers for the alternator and water pump!

The two highly complexly designed original engine covers for the alternator and the clutch are vulnerable in the event of a mishap over terrain or a crash. The same applies for the water pump, which is attached to the right of the engine in an elevated position far to the front – if this fails, in certain circumstances it could cause total engine failure.

We have developed a set of fitted, impact-resistant covers to protect the vulnerable housing covers and aggregates. They are uniquely characterised by their integrated, appealing design, which reliably protects the vulnerable areas.

The Wunderlich »EXTREME« engine protection

The functional design and constructive integration of our »EXTREME« engine protection protects the engine and the manifold. It moulds itself so tightly to the aggregate that not only is the frontal area of attack minimised, but the ground and lean angle freedom remain almost entirely unchanged. The form of this protection avoids unpleasant levering or jamming of the vehicle over terrain, no matter whether from branches, scree or rocks. Openings ensure that water picked up during river crossings can flow out freely again. Typically Wunderlich, the team have made sure that you have good, unrestricted access during maintenance works: For example, an opening has been included for unhindered drainage of the engine oil. The aluminium engine protection is corrosion-resistant and the generated forces and vibrations are absorbed by impact-decoupling attachment elements. We manufacture the »EXTREME« engine protection using the challenging and advanced hydroforming manufacturing process. This allows us to realise complex component forms and geometries (especially asymmetrical ones, in which we can achieve lower weight and simultaneously realise high component rigidities and mechanical stability through optimisation of the material thickness. The result is a resistant, weight and form-optimised engine protection unit that moulds so tightly and organically to the aggregate that the design principle of "form follows function" becomes self-evident. The switch, which reliably cuts the ignition whenever the side stand is folded out, certainly prevents a lot of grief. This is because riding off with the side stand folded out can have very unpleasant consequences for both rider and bike. It therefore makes sense to properly protect this exposed switch against damage from stone impacts or falls. After all, if the switch is damaged, the engine will no longer start. We replace the original plastic part with a solid component. The high level of protection is ensured by the stiffness of the angular, partially pierced 2 mm aluminium plate. It surrounds the exposed switch with its sturdy two-point attachment and reliably protects it. This reliably reduces the risk of damage to the switch, especially during vigorous off-road use. The protective cover is simple to install using the two existing and easily accessible attachment points on the vehicle.

The two halves of the cover perfectly enclose the two side openings on the rear of the frame. This rear hugger protects both man and machine! It offers reliable protection for the rider's legs and feet against kicked up spray, moisture and dirt.

It simultaneously provides reliable protection for the technical elements: the shock absorber, exhaust, collector exhaust flap mechanism and the substructure of the rear frame are protected against stone strikes, road dirt and moisture during rainy rides.

Just one stone thrown up from the road and/or a short off-road excursion can spell the costly end for the original headlight. The usual, stiff headlight grilles or the original protective screen are not approved for road use and the headlight lens behind it is difficult to clean. Solid protective cover for the "brembo" brake callipers. They provide reliable protection against mechanical stress and integrate into the sporty design of the GS. The high protective effect is the result of the stiffness of the 3D edged aluminium component with milled openings. This leaves the superior "brembo" logo on the brakes clearly visible. Our cover securely and reliably frames the exposed brake callipers as well as the hose connections with its clean two-point attachment.
