Our valve cover & cylinder protectors combine high protective effect and low weight. This makes them ideal for customers who expect high protection but find the classic crash bar too dominant

The cylinders of a Boxer BMW are exposed. Stone chips, a fall in the terrain, or grazing a plastered wall when manoeuvring in a tight space can easily scratch the valve covers. In the 1250 ShiftCam engines, the construction of the ShiftCam mechanism is particularly complex. Since the valve covers are mounted exclusively by friction, there is a risk that the valve cover will shift relative to the cylinder head under any impact and potentially affect the complex valve train. Therefore, additional protection of the valve covers is particularly important. We have developed a set of well-thought-out protectors for this purpose. These are characterised by their precise fit to the valve cover with a narrow gap, requiring precise manufacturing.
The protector is made of impact-resistant, durable plastic. On the inside facing the valve cover, we have constructively integrated segments with a high-temperature-resistant elastic material. These segments are dimensioned to absorb shocks considering their Shore hardness*). Their equally supportive and protective effect ensures that external forces and moments are evenly absorbed and distributed over the segments, avoiding peak loads. The high-quality design and function of the protectors are rounded off by an embedded stainless steel insert. Even though it has a decorative character, it acts as an additional protective element to reduce the risk of grinding through the valve cover and the associated oil loss. This way, the protectors help reduce the risk of secondary damage, ideally avoiding it.
In many cases, they enable unimpeded continuation after a mishap. The installation is easy with the included mounting kit. Our valve protectors are Made in Europe. Therefore, we gladly provide a 5-year warranty.

The engine protection bar not only reliably protects the cylinders and valve covers but also the two lambda sensors. The all-round protection concept increases passive safety and thus enhances the joy of riding. In the event of a fall or tip-over, the forces acting are optimally distributed via the crash bar structure to the load-bearing mounting points, avoiding peak loads.

The engine protection bar is made of 25-millimetre precision stainless steel tubing. The tube segments are formed on CNC tube bending machines and then cleanly welded. Visually, the crash bar integrates into the design of the motorcycle and accentuates its striking appearance.

Our crash bars focus on both protective function and product design. The stainless steel engine protection bar is an eye-catcher and adds a high-quality enhancement to your BMW. The stainless steel surface is glass bead blasted and additionally electropolished.

Wunderlich DOUBLESHOCK drive protection pad

In the event that the motorcycle falls or crashes, the axle protection pads ensure that the swing arm, the wheel axle and the drive end drive are effectively protected against damage.

The protective pads distance these components during bouncing or sliding contact with the floor or road and thus reduce or avoid costly damage to the motorcycle. In addition to the choice of material, we have also integrated two significant, specific properties into the construction and tested these in racing, these being the damping and abrasion resistance that significantly increases in the slide phase.

The damping: The first positive feature we should mention is the damping, which can partially or fully capture and absorb part of the impact energy where impacting forces occur.

Abrasion resistance: The second positive characteristic is the abrasion resistance, which owing the component geometry increases from the outside in due to the enlargement of the effective slide area. This means that our axle protection pad only offers a low level of frictional resistance on light contact, but shortens the time and area of the grinding phase, such as when grinding along the road surface for a longer period. This means that in a crash with the axle protection pad, the time in which the motorcycle slides and the slide path itself are both reduced.

For the optimum protection of your machine, we recommend the combination of our axle protection pads with our vehicle-specific protection bar systems, for which we offer additional protection pads separately.

Life insurance for the BMW: The tiny foot that comes with the original side stand means that your motorcycle will sink into hot tar and any other surface that is less than 100% solid with alarming ease – if this happens it can quickly get very expensive.

The reliable protection for the safety switch on the side stand. The ignition disconnect switch is situated on the side stand's rotary axis – and is thus in an exposed position. This electronic component can be damaged through a collision with an obstacle, even on journeys through easy terrain. This may potentially lead to the motor being switched off or failing to start.

Wunderlich ABS sensor protection

The ABS sensor is a sensitive component and is pretty exposed on the front wheel. A stone or branch thrown up can quickly damage or even completely destroy the sensor, which can result in extremely costly repairs. This ABS sensor cover closes the gap between the brake calliper and the front wheel bearings and prevents damage or the ABS sensor being ripped off. Small investment - big usefulness!

The starter protector for the R 1200 GS LC prevents the starter of the travelling Enduro from damage.

Tipping over or falling as well as accidental kicks with the motorcycle boots would no longer damage the costly starter. The starter protector consists of anodized and extremely resistant aluminium and is safely mounted via two cable ties and two screws.

Protection of the swing arm and shock has fallen victim to the design red pencil. The effect is that water and dirt can freely penetrate into the works, with consequences that are costly and time-intensive to repair.

This cover for the fuel injection system protects the intake pipe area including the injector tube, line connections and throttle sensor. Leaks from the connectors are a constant problem.
