These GUARD engine protection bars offer the perfect balance between maximum protection and low weight

The development of these Wunderlich GUARD engine protection bars focused on achieving the ideal balance between maximum protection and minimal weight.

The compact component geometry reliably protects cylinders, cylinder heads and valve covers without restricting ground clearance or lean angle. The two-part bars fit closely and gain additional stability and rigidity from their specific structure – while maintaining optimised weight. The bars on the right and left sides are securely bolted to three selected existing mounting points each. In the event of a fall or tip-over, the forces are optimally distributed via the bar structure to the load-bearing mounting points, avoiding force and torque peaks and effectively reducing material stress. The proven all-round protection concept increases passive safety and enhances riding enjoyment.

The engine protection bar structure is made of 25 mm precision steel tubing. The tube segments are formed on CNC tube bending machines and then cleanly welded.

Visually, the protection bars integrate seamlessly into the motorcycle design. The black powder-coated finish, matched to the frame, enhances the look of the R 12 models with a premium appearance.
