The key difference between the two Wunderlich systems, ERGO and ERGO+, is not the quality, but the geometry. The ERGO is designed for riders who simply want to raise the handlebars. The ERGO+ additionally reduces the distance between the handlebars and the rider.

With the ERGO RT+, we are introducing our new, technically and aesthetically innovative handlebar riser concept for the BMW R 1300 RT. It can be combined with both the forged handlebar and the tubular handlebar.

Exclusive: The new Wunderlich handlebar riser for Telelever models

• The ERGO RT+ handlebar riser combines raising the handlebars with simultaneously moving the handlebar base towards the rider.
• Innovative design principle: Unlike conventional solutions, where the riser forms part of the tubular handlebar clamp, this handlebar riser is based on an independent concept developed by Wunderlich and protected as a registered utility model.
• The aim was to create a harmoniously integrated and technically elegant riser that blends discreetly into the overall appearance of the cockpit on Telelever BMW models.
• The handlebar bridge has two precisely defined mounting points:
  • at the upper end of the steering head and
  • further forward, on a flex-form plate connected to the Telelever suspension.
• This is precisely where we install two pillars, precision-machined from high-strength aluminium.
• Each pillar measures 30 millimetres. Together, they raise the handlebar bridge by exactly 30 millimetres while positioning the handlebars 30 mm closer to the rider.

The riser is visually discreet, technically sophisticated and aesthetically integrated.

• When using the ERGO RT+ handlebar riser in combination with the tubular handlebar of the R 1300 RT, the full range of handlebar angle adjustment is retained. This allows the riding position to be optimally adapted to individual requirements and noticeably improved.

ERGO RT+: Optimised ergonomics for a noticeable increase in comfort, relaxed and fatigue-free riding

The handlebar riser can be combined with both the forged handlebar and the tubular handlebar. Unlike conventional handlebar bridges, where the handlebar riser becomes part of the tubular handlebar clamp, the ERGO RT+ handlebar riser represents a new solution that is protected as a registered utility model. One of our aims was to integrate the riser in a technically sophisticated and aesthetically pleasing way, allowing it to remain discreet – almost hidden.

Developed by our engineers specifically for RT riders, the handlebar riser is compatible with both the original forged handlebar and the original tubular handlebar. It raises the handlebars by 30 millimetres and moves them 30 mm towards the rider. The height is optimally matched to the touring motorcycle. The ergonomic benefits are considerable, as the new position helps to relax the entire back musculature and the arms while simultaneously relieving strain on the spine, pelvis and coccyx. This significantly improves long-distance comfort and noticeably reduces fatigue. Overall, the handlebar riser supports an intuitive, relaxed riding style that contributes to increased active riding safety, as does the improved view of the traffic situation resulting from the more upright riding position.
