Tool-style design with character: A header pipe guard that unites function and form

Intensive off-road riding inevitably leaves its mark on the Boxer’s header pipes. Stones kicked up directly by the front wheel – or sometimes from the rider ahead – can easily cause dents and marks. Worse still are collisions with solid rock or large stones in narrow off-road passages. These battle scars and signs of wear might honour a seasoned enduro returning from its natural habitat – but on an R 12?

To protect the exposed header pipes and the crossover pipe that connects both header pipes beneath the engine, we recommend our DAKAR header pipe guard. It comprises three custom-fit stainless steel protectors – two for the header pipes and one for the crossover pipe. The distinctive guard follows the curvature of the header pipes. Its tool-style design enhances the G/S look and adds a visual highlight. Installation is simple using premium clamping straps with worm-gear drives for precise adjustment.
